What is up with Fr. Corapi? Has he become the Charlie Sheen of Catholicism?

From what I read there, he seems like he doesn't want to give up what he'd have to if he stayed as a community priest. It doesn't make sense to me that "the accusations are totally unsubstantiated" on the one hand but he's not going to fight on the other. If they are so unsubstantiated, fight them. Sounds like he's all about the money.
